HRW: Military Destroy Houses 1,000 Rohingya People.
A32News - More than 1,000 homes in a number of Rohingya villages were destroyed in the northern region of Myanmar which is now controlled by the military.
Conclusions about the destruction of the satellite image analysis obtained from Human Rights Watch (HRW) released on Monday (21/11/2016), which directly contradicted pemerntah.
Since the deadly attack on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border last month, the Myanmar government to deploy its military to areas inhabited Rohingya.
According to the UN, over the last month at least 30,000 people have been displaced by continuing violence.
Half of the refugees were uprooted from their homes in just two days when dozens of people were killed under fire helicopters belonging to the Myanmar military.
Already more than 70 people were killed and 400 others were detained since the military was in control and shut down the region.
Some witness said he saw soldiers killing and raping the Rohingya people and looted and burnt their houses.
A Rohingya man named Salaman said, she went to bury the bodies of a man and woman who were shot in the village Doetan soldiers last weekend.
"Soldiers came to the village Doetan in on the 19th (November) around 17:00," said Salaman.
"Most of the men in the village fled for fear of being arrested and tortured. Then the soldiers opened fire and killed two people," said Salaman.
Meanwhile, presidential spokesman Zaw Htay ignoring satellite imagery that revealed HRW.
"What we are witnessing on the ground is not covering it," said Zaw Htay.
He also denied the army had committed murder in the village blindly Doetan.
"Neither the government or the military strictly prohibits human rights violations, especially against children and women," added Htay.
Unfortunately, the government of Myanmar refuses international observers into the country to conduct a thorough investigation.
